1. Is the Revolving Door affiliated with Restaurant Bouchard?
Yes, it is. Owners Albert and Sarah Bouchard take pride in owning both restaurants as well as the Inns of Bouchard.
2. How long do chefs stay at Revolving Door?
A typical stay for a guest chef is between two and four weeks. Each guest chef provides their own menu including some of their favorite dishes. (On average the menu provides three to four appetizer and entree options as well as two desserts)
3. How are guest chefs found?
There are multiple ways of reaching out to guest chefs. Revolving Door’s house chef, Josh Berman, contacts chefs from other restaurants who may be interested in taking a “vacation” here in Newport. The guest chef will visit and have days free to enjoy the City by the Sea, while enjoying their passion for cooking in the evening.
4. Where do the guest chefs stay?
Guest chefs typically stay at the Inns of Bouchard, located directly above the restaurant.
5. How do guest chefs make a profit?
Guest chefs greatly benefit from having their dishes sold at Revolving Door. The proceeds of all food sales are split between the restaurant and guest chef. The guest chef must cover the cost of the food, however.
5. Can the Revolving Door be used as a venue for a private party?
Due to limited capacity, private functions are addressed on a case-by-case basis. Please feel free to contact management, we will be happy to assist you.
