Jason Kindness is a Newport native who left town after graduating high school and spent 11 years on the west coast of Florida. He fell in love with the culinary arts at a young age and found a way to combine his love for food and mixing cocktails after winning a competition sponsored by Ketel One in 2005. The prize included a trip to Amsterdam where Jason was exposed to a different brand of bartending that incorporated the use of craft ingredients such as produce, herbs, and spices. Upon returning to The United States he developed his own brand of cocktails that led him back to New England where he won several competitions and was named one of the nations most inspired bartenders, that earned him a spot in the GQ centerfold. Since joining the Revolving Door, Jason and his cocktails have garnered recognition from Forbes Magazine, Town & Country, & Yankee just to name a few. He is known to create cocktails inspired by the current guest chefs as well as seasonal ingredients. Mixology 101 classes are taught regularly by Jason where guests can learn, taste, and create cocktails behind the bar at The Revolving Door on Saturday afternoons.
